Just a memo to anyone interested: Professor Yukio Maeda (Michigan PhD) of our institute is a specialist in political behavior and to my knowledge is the leading expert in PM popularity.
Since he is either modest or busy enough (or both) not to introduce himself to this list, I would like to do so in his stead.
Folks truly interested in the determinants and consequences of PM popularity shifts, and whether such factors have changes over time should consult Professor Maeda.
But you should be forewarned that you might be required a bit of background knowledge if your want to converse with him, since there is a significant body of highly technical literature on the cause and effects of leader popularity.
For what this is worth.
