Perhaps I was too careless in using the word "solution." I'm under no illusions that at this point reasonable immigration or pronatal policies would solve the fiscal problems into which Japan now
careens. But they might make the fall somewhat less
expensive for
those of us who live here. The fact that immigration is not even seriously discussed in legislative venues sets Japan apart internationally.
