[SSJ: 6812] Need some help with interviewing Government officials

From: Anthony D'Costa
Date: 2011/08/23

Dear Colleagues:

I have been a lurker on this ssj group since my Abe Fellowship days going back to 2005. I noticed that the intensity of discussions on Japanese politics in this forum has subsided somewhat but I suppose in real life it hasn't!

I am planning to visit Japan one last time for the project I am working on (Indian technical professionals in Japan). In this regard I would like to meet some immigration and other related officials such as MEXT and who may be articulate in expressing not only the official views but also their own regarding Japan's technical workforce, education, and foreign workers.
Anyone in the different ministries overseeing the signing of the India Japan Comprehensive Economic Partnership would be excellent as well. Alas, I do not speak Japanese but I should be able to have a native speaker as translator.

Any help, suggestions, and introductions, direct or indirect would be much appreciated. Please feel free to write to me directly, though there may be others on ssj who may find it of interest as well.

I plan to be in Japan for about 10 days at the end of November 2011.

Thanks in advance. Best wishes, Anthony
