In 1998 Larry Page and Sergey Brin set out to build a search engine that would organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. More than ten years later, Google has become a household name and a critical tool for people around the world. But the story you don't often hear about Google is what its evolution says about the value of data.
The talk will present just a few examples of problems that could be solved through analysis of such data, and some of Google's efforts to help our users gain insight from them.

Speakers' Profile:
Mr. Tokusei is Director of Product Management for Google Japan and Google Korea. He joined Google (California, USA) in 2003 and internationalized a number of products such as Google AdWords. For Japan in particular, he launched the first version of Google Maps, Google Earth. He moved to Tokyo in 2009 to take on the current role director of product management in Google Korea.
He holds bachelor’s and master's degrees in computer science from Cornell University and Stanford University in USA, respectively.
