From: Geoff Froh

Greetings,
Just a brief announcement regarding a conference and a new website.
"U.S.-Japan Relations in Asia" is a conference series focusing on the impacts of
U.S.-Japanese trade, political and cultural interactions upon Asia as a region.
The first two sessions were held in July in Seattle and Portland, and the final
two will occur in Los Angeles (Oct. 11) and San Francisco (Oct. 12). A
distinguished panel of business, academic and political specialists from all
over the Pacific Rim address a range of issues in a fairly informal moderated
discussion format. Questions from the audience are encouraged.
Registration for the LA session is $10 for Japan-America Society of Southern CA
members, $20 for non-members and $5 for students (please call (213) 627-6217
ext.17). The SF program is free of charge, but space is limited -- please call
(415) 986-4383 to reserve a spot.
Summaries of the Seattle and Portland sessions as well as panelist bios,
pictures and detailed information on the upcoming symposia can be accessed at:
New information will be added to the site as it becomes available.
Regards,
geoff froh
