[SSJ: 5] Lectureship at Oxford

One-year Stipendiary Lectureship in Politics

This message concerns a one-year position at Magdalen College, Oxford. Candi

dates should hold, or be about to be awarded, a doctoral degree. Duties will include 12 hours teaching a week, and perhaps assistance with the annual admissions exercise and internal college exams. The successful candidate should be able to provide tutorials in the following papers: for Prelims (exams at end of first year), particularly the USA, France or Germany; and for finals, British Politics and Government, Political Sociology, and International Relations.

The Lecturer will be entitled to a study room in College, as well as to the Common College luncheon and dinner, free of charge during Term. Pay will be based on the Faculty Lecurer Scale, which is age-related from 23 and under (11,482 Pounds) to age 42 and over (16,487 Pounds).

Candidates are asked to supply a CV, giving the names of two referees, to the Senior Tutor, Magdalen College, Oxford OX1 4AU (FAX: 01865-76094). They should also submit a brief statement of teaching experience and research interests. In addition, candidates are asked to arrange for letters of reference from their referees to be sent to the Senior Tutor by 9 June.

The closing date for applications is 9 June 1995, and interviews are expected to be scheduled between 15 and 20 June 1995.
