Before the summer break, we would be delighted to give you some news of la Fondation France-Japon de l'EHESS:


RESEARCH:

Our next research notes will be online on our new website in September.
*We will then also introduce to you our research program (2011-2014) entitled “Is de-industrialization inevitable? Lessons of industrial dynamics in Japan and Korea.”

EVENTS:

* Please note the invitation of Chiaki Moriguchi (Hitotsubashi
University: http://www.ier.hit-u.ac.jp/English/faculty/moriguchi.html)
in Paris from June 27th to July 1st, as part of the research program “Inequalities in Japan: a reassessment,” led by Ryo Kambayashi (Hitotsubashi University) and Sébastien Lechevalier (EHESS).

* You can already note on your calendar our next event: the symposium on “After the global crisis, which models of growth,” co-organized with the Canon Institute for Global Studies and the Nikkei Shimbun, will be held in Tokyo on October 3rd 2011, with the participation of, among many others, Christian Noyer, François Bourguignon, Benoit Coeuré, Toshihiko Fukui, Charles Yuji Horioka, Fumio Hayashi, Keichiro Kobayashi, Junichi Ujiie, Rintaro Tamaki, Hiroshi Yoshikawa.

OTHER ANNOUNCEMENTS:

* We are pleased to announce the publication of Philippe Mossé and Tetsu Harayama (eds.), our colleagues’ new book entitled “Hospitals and the Nursing Profession. Lessons from Franco-Japanese Comparisons – Paths to Modernization,” published by John Libbey (2011). We will welcome Philippe Mossé in the fall of 2011, who will introduce this work.

LIFE OF LA FONDATION FRANCE-JAPON:

* Tomo Nagami (tomo.nagami@ehess.fr) joins la Fondation France-Japon de l'EHESS. She will be supervising the communication and the events, and will be delighted to help any of your questions.
