Two prominent NPOs that have been on the front lines of the Tohoku Disaster are coming to talk about the relief effort, the experience of volunteering and what sort of support is needed right now:

Second Harvest: http://www.2hj.org/index.php/ Peaceboat:http://www.peaceboat.org/english/index.php

There are lots of safe and effective ways to volunteer, some right here in Tokyo. The options explored here will be include those suitable for foreign and bilingual volunteers, but should be useful for all.

Please come and hear what these organizations are doing and find out what you can do too.

If you have already volunteered, please come share your experience!
