MELL Platz, launched in 2007, has built up "Platz (Plaza)" for people who are concerned about media expression, learning and literacy.

"MELL EXPO" is an annual festival for people who are involved in activities and research about media expression and literacy. It aims at connecting people, sharing ideas, and providing discussions.

Two panel sessions will be held during two days. The first panel will re-think recent global trends and develop a new perspective on Digital Storytelling, by examining practical research in Japan.

The second panel will overview the current situation of media literacy in Japan from the following fields:
education, citizen society, mass media, mobile media and cross-cultural communication.
