Topic : "Blue Ocean Strategy - Its Theory and Pratice to Re-Invent the World"

Speaker: Professor Yoshihiko Abe
President, Value Innovation Japan, Co. Ltd.
Visiting Lecturer, Tokyo University of the Arts Visiting Professor, Graduate School, Kanazawa Institute of Technology

Blue ocean strategy is one of the best selling books in Harvard Business School Press and it is published in 41 languages. However, it is hard to grasp the core of the theory, because of its "paradigm shift" nature. This theory is to fill the void of the field of the strategy, which is to make competition irrelevant and to create uncontested market space systematically. In the presentation, Professor Yoshihiko Abe, student of Professor W. Chan Kim, Co-Director of INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute will talk on the basic concepts and cases of the strategy. His talk will focus on Value Innovation and several cases including "Nano" - passenger car of Tata Motors Limited and the talk will cover the cases of Japanese companies as well. Professor Abe holds BE in Information Science and BA in Economics from Kyoto University. He has obtained MBA from INSEAD, France.
