[SSJ: 5556] Changes at Japan-US Friendship Commission please post

From: Margaret Mihori
Date: 2009/5/1

To Whom It May Concern: at the April, 2009 business meeting, the Commission approved a plan to limit grant-making sessions to only one session a year, in September. Effective immediately, the Commission will not accept proposals for review at its April business meeting. I am including details of this new plan below.

We would appreciate your posting this information for any interested parties.

-----------------------------------------------------
In light of its current financial circumstances, the Japan-US Friendship Commission announces that it will hold only one grant-making session annually, in mid-September of each year. The Spring grant-making session with March 1 deadline will be discontinued until further notice, effective immediately. The deadline for receipt of proposals for the September meeting will remain August 1, or the end of the following business day if August 1 falls on a weekend or holiday.

Please contact Dr. Eric Gangloff and the Commission staff at jusfc@jusfc.gov with any questions you may have about the Commission's new grant-making schedule, or about the application process.
